Our group is working at the interface of engineering (mechanical, chemical, materials), physics, and environmental science. We value creativity, curiosity, collaboration, diversity and inclusion and we are always looking for motivated people sharing these values to join us!

Graduate students

We are always looking for talented students and encourage you to contact us to discuss ongoing projects. Graduate students must apply to the Mechanical Engineering department and are accepted by the Graduate Division, not an individual group. If you are interested in our group, send us a brief description of your background and research interests.

Post-doctoral researcher

If you are interested in a postdoctoral position you should reach out to Alban Sauret to discuss opportunities and fundings several months before the end of your current appointment. Send us a cover letter describing your background and future research interests, as well as a CV with list of publications, and the names and contact information of at least two references.

Undergraduate students

We are always happy to have undergraduate students working with us on different projects. You do not need prior research experiences: just be curious and motivated! Send an email to Alban Sauret briefly describing your background and interests, how much time you would like to spend in the lab, and what you hope to get out of your research experience.

International students

We typically host in our group a few visiting international students every year. If your are interested in our group and UCSB, send us a CV describing your background, and a description of your interests.

High-school students

From time to time, we welcome high-school students curious to learn and spend time in our lab. If you are interested, feel free to send us an email briefly describing your interests, and what you hope to get out of this experience.
